Honoring Human Rights Day with the Heising-Simons Foundation
In December, we had the honor of photographing a moving celebration hosted by the Heising-Simons Foundation to mark International Human Rights Day. The event brought together advocates, leaders, and community members for a morning of powerful conversations on human rights and resilience.
This year’s theme, Hope and Human Rights, echoed Eleanor Roosevelt’s enduring message that universal rights begin “in small places, close to home.” The foundation amplified that sentiment through a lineup of keynote speeches and panel discussions that spoke to both the urgency and hope of this cultural moment.
We were thrilled to capture it all, from dynamic panels to the powerful presence of President Barack Obama, who delivered a stirring message about how to move forward with purpose and momentum in the wake of the election. Chloe getting to photograph him twice in one year? No big deal. (Okay, a very big deal.)
Huge thanks to Heising-Simons for the important work they do and for trusting us to document this incredible day!
